This lathe weighs over 280 lbs for a sturdy turning experience along with a variable speed from 500 RPM up to 3000 RPM. This lathe is the CLASSIC GENERAL wood lathes that turners love to use in their shops. With a 1" x 8 TPI thread on the head stock allows for all the common chuck, faceplates and other accessories to be used with confidence. There is a 5/8" biore on the headstock and a #2 Morse Taper on the tail stock to accomodate all the popular live centers. There is also a 4" threaded tailstock travel for end drilling your bowl stock. Electrical Testing Labratory CERTIFIED (ETL).
