Electric Submersible Pumps with Shredder Action Impellers for Municipal, Industrial and Agricultural Waste-Water The BJM Shredder Pump model SK08CF is not recommended for unscreened sewage. It does not have enough torque to handle solids such as Tampons, Applicators, Sanitary napkins, Paper Towels (bunched), or other similar materials. BJM Pumps recommend that a 2HP or larger is used in unscreenedsewage. Choosing the right pump for your particular application is very important. Note: Seal Minder relay and high temperature floats must be ordered for panels being used with high temperature pumps. Heat sensor connectors are standard on all panels.
The Shredder (SKF) pumps leave solids slightly larger than if passed through a grinder pump. The shredding action is caused by using a cutting impeller with a Tungsten Carbide Tip, against a "spiral" shaped diffuser plate.
